Jenny Yucus designs for good. As a social awareness designer, she travels the globe assisting nonprofit organizations with design work. Yucus visited HopeChest CarePoints with The Table Initiative in 2018 to capture stories of hope and transformation in Uganda. Yucus also continues to explore women’s issues in Africa, specifically in Uganda and Ethiopia.

In 2017, Yucus traveled to Jordan, where she conducted research to create a new body of work that dives into the misconceptions of the Middle East. She takes these global experiences and translates them into the classroom where her students partner with local non-profits to meet their design needs and shed a light on various social issues in our community.

In 2020, Yucus worked with a team of faculty and students at the University of South Florida on two campaigns. The first campaign, USF Dose of Gratitude, was created to improve morale amongst the medical community at the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic. The second campaign, USF Fall Term on Your Terms, created a positive outlook on the new college experience USF students were facing that academic year and it emphasized connectivity regardless of physical location.

Yucus is the recipient of numerous awards, including from the American Advertising Federation (Angel Award 2021 and Silver Addy), The Telly Awards (Silver and Bronze), and Florida Print Awards.

Yucus earned her Master of Fine Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design and teaches undergraduate courses in package design, history of graphic design and portfolio. She serves as the Campus Associate Director of the School of Art & Art History and is an Associate Professor at the University of South Florida.
